The Trinity, Explained Simply

You may have heard the Trinity is "like water, which can be ice, liquid, or steam." The problem is that water is usually only one of those at a time. That makes God sound like one person showing up in three different modes, the Father in the Old Testament, then the Son, then the Spirit, like one actor playing three roles. But remember the baptism: all three are present at once. God isn't one person in three modes.
